Fun Center Continued

We got to go on the bumper cars and the go carts twice. The second time on the bumper cars I didn't go so I could take some pictures.

The second time we went on the go carts we were the only carts out there so they pushed us to a starting line and when the light turned green we were off. We swithched passengers and Cassandra went with me the second time. I don't understand how come they gave me the slower cart both times, but the kids thought it was my driving. No way!

Sun Mountain Fun Center

Tony and I met the kids at the fun center and had a really fun time. This was a video ride that had a big screen view of a roller coaster ride and the seats would bounce and lean from side to side depending on the screen. The kids did this one twice and really enjoyed it.
We also got one line of bowling each. Alexander got a 100 and Cassadra bowled a 109.

These are pictures taken by Alexander from the go carts. That's Tony and Cassandra's cart in front of us. I think they got around the corner before the shutter worked on the one below.

Deployment ceremony

This is supposed to be the last picture but I can't seem to get it there. Kayla graduated from High School this year so they were having a graduation party for her Friday night. Congratulations Kayla.
This picture was outside the Pub in Steilacoom.
Last Friday June 19, I went to Fort Lewis for the deployment ceremony of Tony's Brigade. You can probably see Tony he is the one wearing the Army uniform and beret. Actually I think this is a picture of Tony's battalion.
By the time they all were out there you can see how many battalions there were. That's a whole lot of soldiers going to Afghanistan.
After the ceremony all the soldiers came over to the bleacher area. You can see all all the people on cell phones trying to find each other. I had left my phone in the car so by the time I got to the car there were voice messages on my phone. We met Tony at the PX and then went to lunch in Steilacoom. I had stopped by Robert's and he came with me to the ceremony and lunch.

Dinner & a Movie & other news

Monday we watched Luke Patty so Kristi could help Josh on their new house. They've got A LOT of work to do and are trying to get things done (enough to move in) by this Friday. We got this swimming pool from the Jackson's (who are in the states this summer) to use for the summer. We are already having a lot of fun with it. The weather isn't quite hot enough yet to really enjoy it, but it's an easy, fun thing to do with the kids so far!Later that night, Joel set up a TV (that we inherited from Kathy when we she went back to the states) with a movie on the terrace outside our bedroom. It's unfinished and because it's black, is quite hot and dirty from birds making their homes out there. Sounds inviting, doesn't it?! Well, we cleaned it up and decided to have dinner and a movie out there. It was fun...and a bit distracting for the kids. We didn't even make it halfway through the movie and the kids were bored. We gave up after dinner and went for a walk instead. But then after the kids were in bed and it was dark, Joel and I headed out there and watched "The Prestige" ---great movie, btw! It was so fun! We kept the TV upstairs and might do that some more this summer. It was really nice!

Park pics

We've gone to the park a couple times recently. The weather hasn't decided to turn toward summer yet, so we've had to go when we can. Here's some recent pics from one of those times.

Also! We bought our tickets for coming back to the states. We fly into Portland on September 5th, then we'll be there until around the 2nd of October then head to set up our new home in Charleston!! We've sort-of begun the packing process, boxing up books and some other things. I found a "moving checklist" online yesterday from Week 8 out from Moving with lists to do for each week. We're a little early to be starting, but since it's international, we need to be moving on some things!
