OK Corral

It felt like High Noon at the OK Corral yesterday. Only instead of a wooden bar to tie a horse to, it was a lamp post and tree and instead of a saloon, it was a coffee shop. It was fun to hear the clip/clop of the horses though and Abigail enjoyed seeing the big animals, but she kept pointing at them and saying, "Moooo". Poor girl, she's a little confused.

Later we went for a walk and there is an older house with some milking cows so we stopped to look at them from a distance for her to understand that they say "moo" not horses. One of them looked directly at us, for I'm sure he knew this little girl was learning the differences between animals and mooooed very strong and loud for all to hear. Abigail, without taking her very large eyes off of the cows quickly pointed for me to steer her in the opposite direction. It was really, really funny. I wish we had, had a video camera with us.

The kids are doing great. We think Abigail is going through a growth spurt. She's been sleeping and eating like crazy lately and falling a ton!! She definitely looks more like a "kid" now with band-aids on her skin and dirt on her face. It's fun to have her a little more independent (in some ways...not so fun in other ways) and be able to play outside.

And Eli had an appt today for allergy testing and the skin/arm tests revealed that he isn't allergic to milk or eggs. They also drew blood to test for milk and egg allergy and will have those results back in about a week or so. So we'll see. I'm hoping it isn't allergies. The Dr. seems to think it's just dermatitis. So she recommended some special soap and lotion.

He is doing great. Still having a hard time sleeping through the day, but sleeps from 8 til 6ish, 7ish or 8ish. That's so nice...it's difficult with him only sleeping 1/2 hour to 45 minutes during the day, but it would be unbearable if he wasn't sleeping at night too. He's almost sitting up and loves putting anything he can in his mouth. He's so different than Abigail was and that's fun to see. We are just loving the guy!

Hello, every one just got out of the field was there for about two weeks with a refit in between so it is nice to be home.

As you can see we had all four seasons in one day! The only problem was that the ground was mushy, but it was fun.

The top picture is of Spc. Davis this was the "practice" for the night fire operation that we had to do. We had to run and shoot at night in the woods it was fun but a really long day!

The second picture was a "stress" shoot we had to do we had to run down climb the wall then run back it was very tiring, having to shoot when you are breathing really hard and hit the target is fun. I got 48 out of 50 points pulled one shot to the left but that is ok some people didn't even hit the target, so I did pretty good!

We also did convoy operations, we would drive down the road and get hit with a mock IED, then there was an ambush form the wood line that we had to react too. The vehicle that we were driving in was disabled so the other vehicle in the convoy would have to recover the vehicle that was damaged and then we would move to a safe location and call in a medivac to get the injured to safety. It was good training and the IED smelled like baby powder so that was fun.


This is a video of what it looks like when we are done shooting the 198 howitzer. We went and shot the howitzer the last part of the field problem that we were doing. We were supporting 2-1 infantry. They were doing the training on calling for fire from a battery and we were providing the fire for them, I could not get one of the actual round going off cause there is too much going on, but I did get some good pictures of it.




Well now i have to go to Yakima for the next few weeks I am doing guard duty! Lots of fun! Talk to you all soon

Shus!

We're (sort-of) having some warmer weather now and Abigail is able to wear some of her new outfits from last summer's birthday party. Here is one of them from Mom...the sandals are from Linda Sirianni and she really likes them. Joel came back with several pairs of new 'shus!' and she's often found at the front door now putting on all her new shus, (including the ones Mom & Dad brought) as best as she can.

Wow! Great bike! You look so cute on your bike with your helmet...did you feel like a kid again going over to your friend's house to see if he could come out and play?? : )

No flu...so that's a blessing! Actually we've been doing really well. Abigail slept until 9 o'clock this morning! Aaahhh how nice that was. We met Sarah & Lili at that coffee shop with the playground this morning too. Last night's and tonight's bedtimes were pretty stressful though with Eli screaming the entire time because he wanted to be held. That was hard, but we made it through.
Kathy's coming over tomorrow after church and will stay through bedtime and most likely come back over on Monday for some time too. Then Joel comes home on Tuesday. Yay! We can hang on until then. Although...I should set an internal clock for him to not be here "completely" until a couple days after his return so I don't expect too much of him and give him some space to get over jet-lag. We'll see how good I do with that! : )

Speaking of Joel...he's having a great time over in Portland. He's had some good time with...it seems like just about everybody. He was able to find a swing for Elijah that is small enough to bring back, so I'm excited for that! It would've been handy tonight at bedtime! : ) So how should he get the things for you guys to you?? I don't think he's going to see Frank again...hmmm, maybe he already passed it along. I'll check with him.

Okay, I'm going to go clean the kitchen and head to bed. Enjoy your new toy! I saw on the news that Oregon and California are having nice weather! That's great for biking!!

Almost forgot...welcome home Grandma!! I'm so glad you're there and I'm sure you're so happy to be back! We love you!!

Big Day today

Two big events today. I got my bike and mom came home. Dan brought the bike over and adjusted it for me then I rode down to Frank & Vicky's. I can already tell that I'm going to enjoy my bike.

We rearranged the house and moved mom's bed into what was her TV room. Then we moved her TV into the living room. I think she is going to enjoy this more than having her own TV room, and it gives us an extra bedroom for guests.

We're surviving so far!

It's day two of Joel being gone and we had a really great day. I was prepared for a difficult one because it took Abigail about 3 hours to finally fall asleep last night, but then she slept in until 8 (yay!) and then took a 3 hour nap this afternoon. She might actually have the flu though, because she threw up after I put her down to bed tonight. I don't know if it was random or the flu...we'll see!

I was so proud of myself...I got 2 loads of laundry done today, some fresh flowers cut and put in vases, changed the sheets on our bed and straightened up our room--(still haven't gotten around to vacuuming and mopping though...someday!) then after Abigirl got sick, it ended up being 3 loads of laundry (everything from her bed needed washing) and the kitchen cleaned. Whew!

We even had lots of great snuggle and play time mixed in with all that!

Anyway...I hope it's not the flu. We were planning on having play time with Sarah & Lili (the people--not the cookies : )) tomorrow, so we'll see.

Global warming?

Got up to snow again this morning. I looked at the weather forecast and we're supposed to get up to 64 by next week.
