Energy!

Since it hasn't been the best weather for playing outdoors, I've been trying to find ways for the kids to get out some energy indoors. These couches belong to our landlord, so I try to limit how much they get tossed around, stepped on and roughed up. They said they will be getting rid of them, so not to worry about it, but I do anyway. Except today! We set up a bouncing path...the kids all liked it and I don't think any of them weigh enough to pop any seams, so I think we're ok! : )



Caleb, especially, loved going across the cushions! He would often get stuck just laying on them, which the other two were really gracious about.

Caleb & Elijah both had "pajama" days today. We weren't going anywhere, so I just never got around to changing their clothes. Caleb tends to spend more time napping than awake anyway, so he might as well just stay in his pajamas! : ) About 5:30 though, Elijah came in the kitchen declaring himself, "Super Grover!!"

Sorry for the "yellow" appearance of the picture. I didn't get the flash turned on in time. I did get another picture after this, but his expression wasn't the original "Look Mom, I'm Super Grover!!" look! Um, yes, those are Abigail's glittery flip-flops. Earlier, he had on one of her necklaces and a clip-on earring! Oh-the-joys of having an older sister!! : ) He really does have his own boy dress-up stuff!

Abigail got a Barbie movie of the Three Musketeers for Christmas. The kids have watched that a couple times recently and love to play "Musketeers" during the movie and after...and right when they get up in the morning, and all through-out the day! Poor Caleb though, always ends up being the "bad guy" that they're trying to defeat! They run back and forth through the house, Caleb following after, trying to catch up only to have them run again, often knocking him down in the chase! I keep trying to convince them that he's the "third" Musketeer, but I guess every good story has to have a bad guy! One day...he'll be big enough to join their ranks! So may I introduce ... the Woodard Musketeers!!

In the movie, "Corynn" goes to Paris...well, the other day, Elijah said, "We have to get ready, Abby and me are going to Pear!" ..."Where?!" "Parasol!" "Do you mean, Paris?" I asked..."oh yes, Paris!" They've been running around saying, "En garde!" ...it's so cute!

Elijah's 3rd Birthday

Amy posted about the birthday on her blog, so I thought I would just post a slide show on ours. Elijah definetly is a loving happy boy. We are so proud of our grandson. He is such a sweet, sensitive little boy. He wasn't sure we should sing to him two days in a row, but we did, and he finally understood. We had a great time swimming with all of the grandkids. Abigail and I were both "Jessie" from Toy Story, practicing and getting ready to eliminate the "bad monster", which of course, was Chris. We were back and forth between Toy Story and Finding Nemo, but let me tell you, we were ready for that "bad guy"!!

Rosette Wreath

This one's for you Aunt Jeanette! Here are the pictures of my wreath that I made this fall. I couldn't figure out what to use to hang it, so I finally just used some leftover burlap. Next fall, I'll have to come up with something else.

It was supposed to be just one, but the friend who showed me how to do it actually bought a smaller wreath for Abigail and extra burlap for her to make her own. She's still a bit too young, so I ended up doing both and then put one inside the other. And I had to add the light brown rosette on top because I didn't want to mess with the pattern. Oh well. : )

It was very, very messy, but fun to do! What did you make yours with??

Baking with the kids

Here are the pictures of Abigail in her new apron and matching headband...a Christmas gift from Yellow Grandma! 

 

 

After I took the pictures, I said, "those are so cute, Abby!!" and she said, "I put my hand on my hip and put my foot out cause I thought it would be cute." Just so matter-of-factly! What a cutie!

And here are the kids "in action" making sugar cookies...which we never actually got around to baking. Whoops! The dough is still in the fridge! Maybe I'll freeze it until Valentines day...or a day when we're bored out of our minds in January and needing something new to do! Oh! And we enjoyed using my new hand mixer! Thanks again, Mom!!
