Birthday gifts

I got a new short sleeve shirt and since we are having such nice weather I'll get to wear it right away. I also got 7 sheckels a CD of Israel folk songs, a communion cup and the picture below in a frame. The CD is funny because Hebrew is from right to left so when you think you are looking at the back of the case your looking at the front. Joel bought the communion cup at a souvenir shop at the tomb of Jesus (yes it was indeed empty) and it is made out of olive wood.

Birthday celebration

We went to restaurant for lunch for my birthday and I got fried chicken. We had fried chicken when we were here 4 years ago and I was looking forward to having it for my birthday. We went to another town for desert. Afterwards Joel and I went to Trdna Skala. They open it for students to just come and hang out from 3-6. We had 6 students come by. Joel taught us a new card game that he learned while he was in Israel. It was a great birthday!

Joel's home

Joel got home from Israel Monday night so he was able to join us for our daily outings. You can see this made his family very happy. Elijah's happy too he's just a little too tired to show it.

Monday in Slovenia

The weather was very nice on Monday so we went to lookout point and got some pictures of Kranj. Afterwards we stopped at a park and Abigail taught Amy how to work the merry go round. Elijah was just enjoying the warm weather. Later in the afternoon we went to historic downtown Kranj. The streets are blocked off to most traffic so we let Abigail get out of her stroller and walk.

Sunday in Slovenia

Sunday after church we went to Lublijana for the antique street market. Before we went to the market we had lunch a McDonalds. Julie bought Abigail a "Happy meal" and the way she ate it she must have been happy. The weather was cold so by the time we got to the market most of the vendors had packed up and the rest were packing up. Julie was able to find a couple of things though.

We visited Bled today, a favorite tourist spot here. Mom & I are hoping to go junking soon, we'll let you know if we find anything good! : ) (click on the pic to see it bigger.)
